New books = happiness! |
If there's one thing we all love in our household it's a good book. I have always been an avid reader and I have tried to instill a love of books in my children. So much so that we are usually over-run with books - but I just can't bear to give any away! There is something very special about getting given a book or going to a bookshop and browsing through all the new titles. It's one of the reasons that I could never get a Kindle - it's just not the same!
So, when I was given a £10 voucher to try out The Works discount bookshop we were all very excited. Although new books are great they can be expensive but The Works sells a great range of low price children's books as well as gifts, cards, art and craft equipment and toys. This makes it ideal for buying for children and for getting some bargain Christmas gifts.
The store is obviously popular as it was very busy when we visited but the staff were helpful and cheery. They had a great offer on where you could get 3 children's books for £10 so we decided that this would be what we would choose.
My car mad little boy instantly grabbed a Cars singalong book which also included a CD and with admirable decision making skills proclaimed "want that one!" so he was happy! I then had a look at the range of children's books with my daughter. There were some lovely Christmas story books and fairy stories but her gaze went straight to two books on her two best ever topics - dinosaurs and space! The books looked great. They were really detailed and also included a poster, stickers and some cut outs to make which I thought was really good value.
I now have two very happy children who really enjoyed reading their books. I would definitely recommend a visit to The Works if you want to buy some great kids books without breaking the bank.
You can find out more information or shop online at www.theworks.co.uk
