Winter Walks, Gingerbread and Christmas Wishes

So...after all the planning and preparation Christmas is nearly here. Today we thought we would make the most of the nice weather and go for a walk around our local lake. I find that the children's behaviour really deteriorates if they don't get a bit of fresh air and exercise so I like to try to get them out as often as I can! They loved it at the park and played for ages with some sticks and a muddy puddle.  We had also taken some bread with us to feed the ducks but they didn't seem particularly hungry and just ignored us despite my son's calls of "come here now ducks - this instant" (I wonder where he got that phrase from).

Then this afternoon I thought we could make some gingerbread men. Although I do have a nice recipe for the dough I recently discovered some ready-made gingerbread dough at Sainsburys. It keeps for a few weeks in the fridge and it's really handy if you fancy doing some cooking but can't face all the mess. The children loved cutting out the shapes and my daughter created a very pretty gingerbread lady who sadly didn't last very long and was eaten rather quickly.

Now my husband is putting the kids to bed, the presents are wrapped and the food is brought so I would like to wish you all and Merry Christmas and a Very Happy Holiday. Thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog. I will be back in the new year with more crafts, recipes and general ranting!

  1. I'm not sure exactly why but this weblog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I'll check
back later on and see if the problem still exists.
