Since having children I have found it really hard to find things to wear. As I work from home I generally tend to look very casual but I also have occasional business meetings where I need to look smart and then I find I am stuck for something to wear!
I also have the problem faced by many mums that anything I put on at 8am in the morning is usually covered in yogurt, snot and other undesirable substances by approximately 8.23pm I just can't seem to keep my clothes clean and so I need clothes that are nice but don't show the dirt (no white jeans for me I'm afraid).
And of course on the odd occasion that I get to go on a date night with my husband I want to look nice but end up not having anything remotely glamorous to wear.
So I've been having a look at New Look online and have tried to come up with a capsule wardrobe for busy mums which works during the day but means you also have something for smart events too. Their clothes are also reasonably priced too so you can get more for your money.
Daytime Wear
I love this heart t-shirt which is pretty but also has a pattern which means that dirt and debris don't show up so easily. It would look great with jeans or black trousers. You could team it with some converse pumps so that you can run around easily after the kids!
Smartening Up
When you need to go for a meeting you want something that is smart but also easy to wear. A really simple way to do this is to add a blazer to your outfit. They are really coming back into fashion at the moment and this grey one is lovely with a slimming tailored waist. You can just pop it on over a plain t-shirt and skirt, add a pair of heels and you are ready to go.
Evening Wear
Summer is a great time to make the most of the long, warm evenings and go out for a drink or meal. These maxi dresses from New Look are the solution for any shape or size. They are really flattering and comfortable - ideal for a night out or a summer wedding. I adore this pretty vintage dress.
Hopefully this has give you some good ideas for your summer wardrobe - if you have any other ones I'd love to hear them!
