Well, its only the second week of the school holidays and already I'm dreaming of the kids being back at school. This September is pretty momentous for our family as my daughter will start school and my son will start pre-school. I know that I'm going to have to be a lot more organised. No more leisurely mornings for us. Before the new term starts I want to make sure I'm fully prepared with everything that my children need to start school.

My husband and I have been debating the great packed lunch V's school dinners issue and I ended up winning so my daughter will be eating packed lunches when she starts school. Rucksack and Labels

When my son starts pre-school he's going to need a rucksack and he's very impressed with the one that we were sent from Stuck On You. It's great, really roomy with plenty of pockets to hold drinks, spare clothes, his toy cars and other two year old essentials! Its actually so spacious that it would work well as an overnight bag too if your child was going for a sleepover or school trip. As my son is obsessed by cars I chose a car logo for him and he loves it.

I've been warned by friends who already have children at school there there are no end of books and folders which can easily get muddled up, so some multi purpose name labels are a must. I chose this colourful classic large selection pack. The bright labels really stand out and mean your child won't loose their homework book (unless they want to!). You could also use them on drinks bottles and even on toys at home to top those sibling squabbles!

If your child is going to have a number of different bags over the course of the school year then some bag tags are a must. I think they look really smart and you get two in a pack which is ideal if your child has a school bag and a PE bag - or in case one gets lost! I thought that the Penny Scanllon designs were great and again chose a car for my son and a star for my daughter as she loves space.
