Picture the scene. Its a cold winters evening and you have finally got the children to bed, but you just can't relax because you have a craving for chocolate that won't go away. The trouble is that you have no chocolate in the house and you really can't be bothered to get out the scales and start baking - you don't have the time or the energy...what can you do?
Well crave no more as I have found a fantastic recipe for a chocolate brownie that you make in a cup. You don't need scales as everything is measured in tablespoons, there is minimal mess as it's all mixed together in one cup and there is no waiting as you can make it in the microwave in literally one minute!
I've tried it out tonight and it is delicious, chocolately comfort food which would be particularly nice with a dollop of cream or ice cream. It would also be fun to make with the kids.
Ingredients:
2 tbsps plain flour
2 tbsps sugar
2 tbsps melted butter (approx 20g)
1 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp water
optional - drop of vanilla essence
Mix all of the ingredients together well and then cook on high power in your microwave for 1 minute (as all microwaves are different yours may take slightly less or more time - you can keep checking it every 30 seconds until it reaches the right consistency)
