Festive Baking For Children - Snowmen Cakes

This week we have been trying out some recipes that are ideal for celebrating the holiday season and I will be posting them on my blog over the next couple of weeks. They are all cheap and simple to make and a fun way to teach children about Winter and the festive season. They also make nice presents too!

I think that these snowmen cupcakes look very sweet and will really appeal to children (of all ages!).

Ingredients:
100g butter
100g caster sugar
100g self raising flour
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla essence

For The Decoration:
icing sugar/white buttercream icing
chocolate drops
chocolate carrot decorations (you can get these from most supermarkets)

Mix the ingredients together until smooth and put into individual white cake cases. Bake in the oven for approx 12 minutes until cooked.

Meanwhile make up some white icing and when the cakes have cooled ice the cakes (you can also use buttercream icing which we ended up using as I didn't have enough icing sugar).

Put on two chocolate drops for the eyes a carrot for the nose and make a chocolate drop smile.

Then tie a ribbon around the cake case as the snowman's scarf.
